Why do people continue to be outraged, astounded and appalled at T.O.'s behavior. His character pathology has been well established. From San Fran to Philly to the driveway and finally to Dallas he has not changed. He remains a psychoanalysis wet dream- a hyperverbal, self-indulgent, ego maniac who seeks the spotlight, can't stop talking and can afford daily sessions.
Fandom should be upset with Jerry Jones and co. They brought him to town knowing his instability and uncanny ability to fracture team chemistry. The T.O. show doesn't just appear on Sunday, but throughout the week. Lead attorney Michael Irvin has now brought in ex assistant D.A. Sterling Sharpe. Irvin defends his client every Monday on espn radio. The spin usually revolves around T.O. being the victim of being misunderstood and jealously.
The bottom line in the T.O. discussion should be his declining skills. Not only is he not in the top 5 receivers in the league, but he is not even the best receiver on his own team. Injured? Perhaps, but numbers will always tell the story with offensive studs and T.O.'s don't stand up.
How will the latest T.O. episode end? Exactly as it has at every other stop in the sitcom. Character pathology doesn't lie. The more things change-the more they remain the same.
