The Bulls-Somethings Gotta Break

Perhaps its too early to start panicking, but six straight losses and eight straight on the road isn't what we were expecting this year. The playoffs were a given and the finals were no longer a dream. Tonight's loss against Philly raises several questions for Pax, Skiles and co.

Big Ben had 0 off/reb, 0 def/reb, 0pts and 1 assist in 20 minutes! This was the man that was going to take us to the promise land. His stats were tonight and have been rookie like! The 20 min stat is most telling because Skiles pulled him for sleeping on the job. Wallace clearly seems disinterested on the court this season. Whether Skiles benching him will motivate through embarrassing him has yet to be seen. Obviously $64 million doesn't motivate anymore.

Remember Wallace had a great supporting cast in Detroit-many large forwards and guards who could all score and rebound. Where does the Tim Floyd record and player/coach actions lead us. Well, unless they find themselves seriously about to fall out of playoff contention, things will be tumultuous but alright. This is the NBA afterall, the regural season is for strictly financial reasons.

If they are clearly not going to make the playoffs like the Hawks and Grizzlies, then I feel Skiles will be made to pay. Wallace and the players and their salaries are here to stay. Reinsdorf will remain faithful to Paxon-that's his style. Skiles remains the odd man out and history always repeats itself. The Scott Skiles burnout may be upon us.
