NFL Odds and Ends

1.)NFL network makes its debut with a big thumbs up! Minimalist graphics on the screen make for more enjoyable watching. Though I'm not a big Bryant Gumble fan, he was refreshing to listen to after all the Madden rejects. He also is not an NFL homer like most of the ex-player announcer wannabees.

2.)Detroit crowd was constantly screeming "Fire Millen", but the powers that be decided that we don't need to hear that kind of negativity on Thanksgiving. The lack of accountability with Millen hasn't been seen since.....

3.)Go Romo go! And this guy is from football powerhouse Eastern Illinois. He's got a release like Joe Willie and field command that Grossman can only dream of. As we stated last week the Cowboys are starting to peak. Plenty of confidence building with all of their complementary offensive weapons and a defense that can contain.

4.)Pierson makes an interesting point today. That the Bears may find the rest of the season more compelling if they lose to the Pats. He argues that it will keep them interested in the remainder of the season and that the Bears need to play up the fact that the NFC is inferior. I disagree, the Bears lost to Miami because they have weaknesses, not because they looked past them. When game time comes, teams don't care whether they are NFC or AFC, they simply play to win.

5.)Monday night debacle! Kornheiser is BRUTAL! Zero chemistry between him and Thiesman. Desperation is evident by the fact that they bring in rappers to interview during the game. Oh, by the way, the games also suck!

6.)Sunday night football success. Madden and Michaels looked like genius's for the move. Flex schedule proving to be essential night football programming. The league can essentially never have a poor matchup.

7.)Pats 24/Bears 17. Bears defense will be exposed and Grossman better hope he doesn't have to play catch up to Brady.

I agree w/ yr point in point 4...............they play to win, regardless of conference...........maybe in the first few superbowls or whatever, but not anymore..........as for point 7, all we can do is hope that the D comes up big and it's not Rex the Rookie time
